Privacy Policy

Effective date:

This Privacy Policy describes how AideaMaker LLC collects, uses, and protects data in connection with the Competitor Intelligence Monitor. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here. For our Terms of Service, see /terms.

1. Who We Are

Competitor Intelligence Monitor ("CIM," "Service," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by AideaMaker LLC, a Texas limited liability company. CIM is a self-serve SaaS that monitors publicly accessible competitor data and delivers AI-generated intelligence digests via email and Slack. All data described in this policy is stored on self-hosted infrastructure operated by AideaMaker LLC — it is not processed by a third-party cloud database or backend-as-a-service provider.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

a. Account and Identity

  • Name and email address provided at signup
  • Password (stored as a bcrypt hash — we never store your plaintext password)
  • Organization name
  • Billing contact information (name, email, billing address as required by our payment processor)

b. Competitor Configuration

  • The competitor domains, source URLs, and monitoring preferences you configure in the Service — this is the core operational data that tells CIM what to watch
  • Labels, notes, and tags you assign to tracked competitors

c. Intelligence Data Collected on Your Behalf

  • Snapshots and change records of publicly accessible competitor pages (pricing, changelogs, job posts, review aggregates, ad creative metadata, news articles) — collected by our crawlers on your behalf and stored in your account
  • AI-generated digests, significance ratings, and narratives produced from that data

d. Usage and Technical Data

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited within the Service, timestamps
  • Device and session metadata used to operate and secure the Service
  • Feature usage patterns (which dashboard views you access, digest open events via email) used in aggregate to improve the Service

e. Communications

  • Messages you send us through the contact form
  • Support-related correspondence

f. Payment Data

Payment card and billing details are handled directly by our payment processor (Stripe). We receive only a tokenized reference, the last four digits of your card, and billing status — never your full card number, CVC, or raw payment credentials.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account and subscription
  • Run crawlers against the competitor sources you configure and deliver intelligence results to you
  • Generate and deliver your weekly AI digest via email and/or Slack
  • Send transactional messages — billing receipts, subscription renewal notices, security alerts
  • Respond to support and contact form submissions
  • Detect abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect the security of the Service
  • Analyze aggregate, anonymized usage patterns to improve the Service
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your competitor configuration data or intelligence results to train AI models or for any purpose outside of providing and improving the Service to you.

4. We Do Not Sell Your Data

AideaMaker LLC does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or your account's competitive intelligence data to any third party. We do not share it for third-party advertising or marketing purposes.

5. When We Share Data

We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use third-party providers to operate the Service: payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (Resend), and team messaging (Slack API for digest delivery if you connect a workspace). Each provider receives only the data necessary for their function and is bound by their own privacy terms.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AideaMaker LLC, its users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If AideaMaker LLC is acquired or merges with another entity, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change and any material change to this Privacy Policy.

6. Data Storage and Security

All account and intelligence data is stored on self-hosted infrastructure (servers operated by AideaMaker LLC). We do not use third-party cloud database providers for your data.

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), hashed password storage, and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.

  • Intelligence snapshots and change records. Retention varies by subscription tier — Starter plans retain a rolling 90-day window; Growth and Pro plans retain data indefinitely for the life of the account.
  • Account data. Retained for the life of your account and for a reasonable period after closure for legal and business continuity purposes.
  • Payment records. Retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulation.

8. Cookies and Session Storage

The Service uses the following:

  • Session cookies. Required to maintain your authenticated session within the dashboard. These are deleted when you sign out or when the session expires.
  • Security tokens. CSRF and authentication tokens stored in HttpOnly cookies to protect against cross-site request forgery.
  • Preference storage. Browser localStorage may be used to remember non-sensitive UI preferences (e.g. sidebar state).

We do not use third-party advertising trackers or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not use fingerprinting or behavioral advertising.

9. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following controls over your data:

  • Access and correction. You may view and update your account information in the Settings section of the dashboard at any time.
  • Delete competitor configuration. You may remove tracked competitors from your account at any time; associated intelligence data is removed on the schedule described in Section 7.
  • Account deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us through the contact form.
  • Email opt-out. You may unsubscribe from promotional communications using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Transactional messages (digest delivery, billing, security) will continue.
  • Slack disconnect. You may disconnect the Slack integration at any time from the Settings → Integrations page; this stops digest delivery to Slack immediately.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us through the contact form and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted with an updated effective date, and where required, we will notify you by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

13. Contact

For questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us through the contact form on this site. AideaMaker LLC does not publish a contact email address or telephone number, and does not receive, monitor, or accept postal mail or physical deliveries. All communications, including data-access or deletion requests, must be submitted through the contact form; we reply to the address you provide.
